More great news for PlayStation gamers swinging into action this weekend-MCU Spider-Man 2 is on sale courtesy of Sony’s Days of Play promotion. Until June 11, the offer runs at different retailers, offering discounts on the standard edition and the deluxe edition. However, while the sale was mounting attention, what dominates the replies in the discussion is the question of the missing elements-DLC, Venom, and Wolverine updates.
The Insomniac Instigators tweet posted with purchase links. Though great for new buyers, the $40 price for a deluxe edition is a bargain, while the standard edition is still holding firm. Instead of being all excitement and happy about the discount, the replies were flooded with requests, jokes, and impatience.
The loudest cries are—where is the DLC? Insomniac have replied lots of times regarding failure to deliver story expansions after launch. “But no DLC,” claimed one user simply, and another one sarcastically “Imagine if it had the DLCs we were promised when buying the game before release!” Ouch! Seems like the general consensus is that the game was great but felt like a bit of a rip-off in the absence of those DLCs.
Then comes the Venom situation: “Where is the Venom game?” another reply said, echoing a clamour that has been circling ever since the launch of Spider-Man 2. Obviously, the character is HOT, and with Tony Todd’s demise, everybody is thirsty for more. Some started speculating about a potential shadow drop during Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest-although many weren’t placing any bets on that. Another user commented, “GTA 6 is actually releasing before we get more info on Wolverine,” thereby summarizing the sour climate in a fun way.
Speaking about Wolverine… yeah, that’s another. The next Insomniac game of Wolverine was announced a few years ago, and since then? Radio silence. Gamers are getting impatient. “Last Wolverine update was 2021…. Sony has ruined Insomniac,” an account posted. Another went all dramatic, “If there is no showing of Wolverine during Games Fest I will end it all.” It’s harsh but there lies the fire of Marvel fandom.
Not all players were griping, though. Some players confessed they haven’t played Spider-Man 2 just because of a handful of other games in their backlog. Others were just looking for more suits-because really, who doesn’t love a new suit for Spidey? And some are just random, like one begging for Sunset Overdrive on PS5. Priorities, right?
