Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is a remake of the classic 1993 Game Boy game that made the series go mobile. The game is getting revitalized with the same story for release on the Nintendo Switch. It was known rather early on that Amiibo’s would have some level of control on the game, but details were unknown initially.

The game has been making waves so far with its adorable graphics and faithful reconstruction of the beloved story. The entire island has been rebuilt around a brand-new art style that causes fans to take pause and enjoy the scenery. The game itself follows the same story revolving around a lost Link on a strange island.

Link has washed ashore on a mysterious island and to escape you must collect magical instruments across the land to awaken the Wind Fish. It is a standard Legend of Zelda formula mixed with a beautiful art style that has reimagined the entire series.

You must battle enemies, explore dungeons, and uncover the secrets of this magical island. You will find strange people living on the island and even find enemies from outside the Legend of Zelda universe like Goombas, Piranha Plants, and more.

You can earn dungeon rooms by completing the many found on the island and use these to arrange them into your custom dungeons. This is where the Amiibo comes into play. If you tap a compatible Amiibo figure, then you can earn more chambers for the game. It will also add additional chambers for mini-games such as river rapids, trendy games, and fishing.

This is not all the small figures can do. It can also save your dungeon to your Amiibo so you can bring them with you and share them on other player’s games. This allows you to trade much more than figurines as you can trade dungeons with your friends as well.

The game is one of many that is getting a revival and fans are looking to the horizon for a chance to re-experience some of their favorite Nintendo titles. If they all take a cute tone to their worlds, then fans have nothing to worry about as early reviews are already raving about the game and are sure it will be a success.

The game and the Amiibo are arriving on September 20 for the Nintendo Switch. You can pre-order the game online for $59.99 or at your preferred store. It is time to return to another timeless adventure with Link and his friends.
