Streamers may be the eventual downfall of companies and their secrets, although fans definitely aren’t complaining.  WARDELL, a former professional AWPer for Ghost Gaming, was happily streaming Counter-Strike during the Mythic Cup qualifiers, playing with Jake ‘Stewie’ Yip, Yassine ‘Subroza’ Taoufik, and Anthony ‘Vanity’ Malaspina.  They were discussing upcoming scrimmages, and both Riot Squad and eUnited were mentioned.

Then Team SoloMid was name-dropped, followed immediately by an audible ‘Yikes’.

Another player on the channel then said ‘Yikes? What do you mean yikes, they just beat you?’ A third voice chimed in with ‘Yo, there are streamers here’ followed by lots of groaning as everyone came to the realization that they just happened to leak an upcoming team.  Even WARDELL seemed to notice what was being said live on Twitch broadcast, but didn’t offer additional input.

It’s rumored that WARDELL is to be announced on the Team SoloMid roster for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and it’s possible that he may be joined by both Vanity and Subroza.  Team SoloMid hasn’t been seen in Counter-Strike for roughly three years, so them putting together a team and rejoining the fray could be big news.

The last time we saw TSM in Counter-Strike was January 2017, before they disbanded.  On the roster was a very young Russell ‘Twistzz’ Van Dulken, who now plays for the fabled Team Liquid that seems to have lost its luster recently, Skyler ‘Relyks’ Weaver who is now on Singularity, Pujan ‘FNS’ Mehta who is now on Riot Squad, and Kory ‘Semphis’ Friesen who is on Peeker’s Advantage.

If we’re connecting the dots properly, and WARDELL, Vanity and Subroza are all slated to be announced on the TSM CSGO roster, it’s a sizeable lineup of young talent that is currently listed as not having any team.  WARDELL is the clear choice for AWPer in the line-up, so we’ll have to wait and see who the other two might be that get added to TSM.  There have been rumors of Jake Yip going back to Cloud9, although his history with the organization casts doubt onto those rumors.

Before people get too excited, it’s worth noting that absolutely nothing has been announced from TSM themselves, and until they do, it’s a rumor at best.  However, with the reactions from the various entities in the channel, we might escalate this one from rumor to ‘educated guess’.

For now, we’ll simply have to wait from Team SoloMid’s official announcement regarding whether or not they are fielding a team.
