Konami is gearing up for a huge international event, with a press kiosk on June 12th, available to be attended via multiple streams. The latest news will be made available about their biggest franchises, while the developers will be sharing direct insights. Time settings shall be modified to suit the respective time zones, catering the early birds at 6 in the morning in the U.S., while in Japan, the late ones will have to keep awake until 10 at night.
This announcement has sent players into a frenzy, this very moment busy speculating about what may be the outcome from Konami. The tweet is flooded with requests and hopeful musings, with a few pessimistic viewpoints as well. Silent Hill fans are kicking up the loudest noise and are shouting for any news on a Silent Hill 2 remake – they want to be kept in the loop on the “Born From a Wish” DLC too. One user, @WilgnerSena_, hollered for the game to be ported to Xbox, while some others examined whether there were plans to fix lighting and animations in the remake before launch.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater also generated loads of excitement for those eager to learn more about the game! @NonprofitMoth5 screamed their excitement with: “MY GOATSSS LETS GOOOOO” while @GameCharacterAI revelled in trash talking Silent Hill in favor of Metal Gear. Meanwhile, there were shoutouts to classic Konami IPs from Castlevania and Goemon to, yes, the quietly vanishing Bloody Roar, proving games are a great nostalgia trip.
Still, not everyone was convinced with Konami well and truly back into action. @SpaceWithAir sarcastically quipped, “That’s the way Konami Take ur ips away from Western if you want money,” whereas @Ironhyde01 just plainly asked, “Is Konami actually back?” That disbelief could well be justified—Konami and its fans have had an excruciating affair in the past few years, especially with beloved franchises being shelved in favor of pachinko and mobile.
Still, it is a good sign that they are hosting their own dedicated showcase. @MrShyPotato was all in on the idea, “This is really cool! Glad to see the company improving and learning.” Whether this really is a comeback or just bait remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: All eyes will be watching.
Now mark your calendars and set those alarms to watch Konami either deliver on all the expectations or leave us with an encore of questions. It’ll surely be fun regardless.
