The information was included in Koei Tecmo's yearly fiscal report that ended in March 2020. In mid-February, Koei Tecmo announced the game shipped 350,000 copies worldwide, but the game has continued to achieve new milestones. At the end of April, the publisher announced the total shipment number of digital and physical shipments worldwide, has surpassed 420,000. Atelier Ryza is now the best selling title in the series. Previously, the best selling title in the series was Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, which was released in November 2015. The title was released on PC, PlayStation 3 and 4, plus the PS Vita, and reached around 370,000 sales worldwide. Preorders for Atelier Ryza were the best in the series as well. The game surpassed preorders of previous Atelier games. The title had a strong launch in Japan during its first week with 150,000 copies in September 2019. Gust has also released new content for the title, including costumes, hideout parts, and extra story content featuring other characters in the series. The developers have also continued to release patches and other bug fixes to ensure players can continue to enjoy the newest installment in the series.
