One of the more interesting takes on bounty hunting in the video game sector has been Hunt: Showdown. It’s a first-person shooter game where you go around taking on various monsters that have taken over the world during the late 1890’s. It’s quite a unique concept, one that Crytek spent plenty of time nailing down perfectly.

It has been out since February of 2018, and for the most part, gamers seem to be loving what the developer has done. There’s something so eerie and memorable about heading out on a hunt for a deadly monster. Not knowing what it will do when you find it just adds to the tension. You get this sensation each time you go on the hunt.

It’s now 2020 and the game is getting more post-launch support. That’s great news if you’ve stuck around to see what new additions the developer would roll out. There are a lot of improvements, but one of the most anticipated is the solo PvE mode. Fans have wanted this feature since launch. It’s not that the online multiplayer portion is bad. It’s just sometimes, you don’t want to have to worry about other players.

You could be in the middle of a bounty and right when you lock your sights on the target, you get taken down by other players. It’s pretty annoying, but it seems like Crytek has listened to the frustrations from the community. With this new mode, you’ll be able to simply track and hunt monsters alone. That premise is worth this game’s full retail price.

At this current time, there isn’t a release date for this new mode. It is tentatively scheduled for 2020, though. In the meantime, Hunt: Showdown players can look forward to Update 1.2. It’s making a couple of big improvements. For example, the tutorial system will be more in-depth and user-friendly. It’s definitely a resource you’ll want to use when first start this game, as it breaks down the controls and the purpose of each match.

That’s not all. According to patch notes from the developer’s official site, they have plans of bringing in new characters. Finally, new tools are being added to give players an edge in various ways. If you’re a fan of this monster hunting game, you’re probably ecstatic. The game is finally receive a ton of support and this could last for the foreseeable future. There’s never been a better time to be a Hunt: Showdown player.
