The PlayStation Vue was Sony’s answer to digital cable steaming services. The service was not only available on PlayStation consoles, but also through apps and Roku.

The PlayStation Vue went out of business on January 30, 2020. The former official website is mostly unavailable with a brief message that the service shut down. Some players turned to other ways to stream TV, may it be through Sling TV on Roku or competitors.

Hulu, a streaming service that offers live shows, often a short time after the show has aired, has recently teamed up with Sony to put their service on PlayStation 4 consoles.

Gamers who use their PlayStation 4 for more than games can now use their consoles to stream live TV. The service does require downloading the Hulu app already available on the PlayStation 4 and then picking the right Live TV plan.

The $54.99 includes over 60 channels to watch live. It includes popular channels like Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, A&E, SyFy, and History. Hulu also offers additional options like HBO, Showtime, and Stars at an additional cost. The costs vary depending on which add-ons players choose. Players can also access on-demand content with an active subscription.

While the service is expensive, it’s an option for those who want to watch live TV and miss the old PlayStation Vue service.

Hulu + Live TV was previously released on other services such as Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, desktop browsers, Xbox consoles, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and more. The PlayStation 4 is one of the last platforms Hulu + Live TV was made available. The Twitter response from PlayStation 4 owners have ranged from happiness to wondering what took so long.

If players don’t like the cost but also want to stream live TV, YouTube TV, another live tv streaming service, was made available in January. Hulu + Live TV is one of the more expensive live TV streaming options, so gamers may want to shop around before making their decisions.

It’s important to note that this isn’t available in all countries yet due to licensing restrictions. The service is available at least for North American users who want to stream live TV and access on-demand content now.

Hulu + Live TV is available now on PlayStation 4.
