Blizzard is only days away from releasing World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, set to release this Monday, November 23rd (or the 24th, depending on what your time zone might be).
Players have been working up to get everything prepared for launch for months. But there’s one thing that some players may have overlooked – Battle Pets.
Battle Pets, if you’re unfamiliar, is typically described as World of Warcraft-themed Pokémon fighting. Players collect non-combat pets that can be used for Battle Pets fights instead, with several different classes, types, and rarities.
Each expansion brings plenty more on top of the hundreds already in the game, and Shadowlands will be no exception. Each Covenant within the expansion – Night Fae, Venthyr, Necrolords, and Kyrians – have their own pets that players can snag.

Many of them are purchasable using Polished Pet Charms, which you can farm right now, before the expansion launches. #Warcrafthttps://t.co/ousIwd5dTN pic.twitter.com/8NONKSMayO
Several of these are up for grabs using Polished Pet Charms, a currency earned and used through Battle Pets. There are twelve pets that are only obtainable with polished pet charms, which are as follows:
- Willowbreeze
- Stemmins
- Sir Reginald
- Leafadore
- Gloober, as G’huun
- Fun Guss
- Fuzzy Shimmermoth
- Floofa
- Court Messenger
- Battie
- Steward Featherling
- Carpal
Each and every one of these will be purchasable for 250 Polished Pet Charms, so if your only goal is to grab a certain pet or just a handful, you can only farm up the ones you wanted to grab. However, some are only purchasable depending on your Covenant, so make sure that you’re aiming for the group that you want!
That said, plenty are shared through Covenants, and are at a different pricepoint. For example, if you go the Kyrian Covenant, the total cost would be 5,000 Polished Pet Charms, according to Wowhead’s write up on the matter.
Otherwise, you can obtain them for 3,000 Polished Pet Charms with the other Covenants, but obtaining some of them will require an alternate path. This could be drops, crafting, a different cost, quest rewards, trading, and the like.
Polished Pet Charms aren’t difficult to farm, but it can be monotonous, and the opportunities to get them don’t always appear. Your best bet is to get onto as many alts as you can to complete the Battle Pet world quests you can find around.
Thankfully, Battle Pets are account-wide, so once one is acquired you won’t need to worry about grabbing it for other characters. This makes the farming a bit more forgivable, as you can use ten characters towards a single goal without too much of a drawback save for repeating the same content to earn the currency.
