Sole developer Robert Tatnell is creating a unique independent game that is inspired by Animal Crossing. It is a small village-life simulator that brings some new and innovative features to the genre. There is a ton of in-depth customization that Hokko Life explores as you choose and develop your character and shape their future.
As a village simulation game, players will explore the community and make friends with the locals. As they develop their story, they quickly learn how to farm, craft, and live a life in this digital world.
I’m working on a cute life-sim game called Hokko Life, where the player gets to design and create their own furniture and clothing!

The game is in early development with no release date as of yet, but it is confirmed for PC and Mac systems. As a solo developer team, this game has tons of potential, but it will take a ton of time to finish the project.
The house is fully customizable, even down to the furniture you find inside. All items you create for inside and outside your home will be able to scale in size, move, and rotate for unique appearances. You can even change the materials used to craft unique environments. There is even a painting tool that can be used to decorate the walls, floor, and even make T-Shirts.
All the characters have personalities and interactions, just like in Animal Crossing. There is a time feature built-in that limits the train station’s activity based on the game’s clock. After you have helped a villager, become friends with them, and met them a few times, players can quickly invite them to move into the town.
Greetings evolve over time, depending on the time of day and the weather. Players can wave at villagers, putting them in a better mood, to help shape the interactions that players will have. You can tell the mood of a villager from the distance as they will laugh, cry, get angry and much more instantly triggering dialogue.
The interior of the shops all have their inventory laid out on display so you can see the item before buying. Contents of shops change every day so players can look forward to new items every day.
Character creation allows players to change their hair color, eye color, skin color, and much more. The advanced character creation features allow players to really make themselves in this fictional world.
There is tons more to this game, and it is worth it for any fan of Animal Crossing to look into. You can find out more on the developer’s main Twitter on this game’s official website.
