Looking towards Battlegrounds updates, the Dire Wolf Alpha card has been removed from the pool. However, a new minion, the Rabid Saurolisk, has been added in its stead.
The Rabid Saurolisk is a Tier 1 beast card. The base version of Rabid Saurolisk is a 3/1 with Deathrattle: gain +1/+1. As expected, the golden version is much more powerful, with double the health and damage, as well as Deathrattle: gain +2/+2.
Three new heroes have come to those with Battlegrounds perks for playtesting! These three heroes will be added for everyone with their full unlock on May 26th, but until then, those with Battlegrounds perks will be doing the playtesting with some early access.
The first of these heroes is Lady Vashj, the well-known Naga ally of Illidan Stormrage. Vashj’s Passive Hero Power is Evolving Electricity, which replaces Bob’s minions with ones of a higher Tier after upgrading his tavern.
Second is the Night Elf Warden and jailer of Illidan, Maiev Shadowsong. Shadowsong’s Hero Power is Imprison, a 1-cost power. Imprison will make a minion in Bob’s Tavern Dormant. After 2 turns, it will be added to Shadowsong’s arsenal with +1/+1.
Finally, Kael’thas Sunstrider comes, the third character with a deep tie to Illidan Stormrage. The former prince comes with the Passive Hero Power Verdant Spheres, which causes every third minion bought to gain +2/+2.
In terms of the changes make to deckbuilding, Blizzard has finally added in the ability to reorder your decklists! Within the Collection Manager, players can press and hold a deck’s icon to enter rearranging mode. From there, players can drag and drop their decks into the order they want them to be in. This cannot be done until all nine starting heroes are unlocked, however.
With so many solid improvements coming to Battlegrounds, it’s a great time to get in and help with some alpha testing. If you’re one of the players who has to wait until May 26th to unlock the new heroes, try your best to stay patient and be prepared at launch!
