Publisher Headup Games and ClockStone Studio have published Bridge Constructor Ultimate Edition on the Nintendo Switch. The construction sim is only available on the Switch eShop.
Bridge Constructor Ultimate Edition includes the base game and two bonus DLCs all in one digital download.
In Bridge Constructor, players can “Become an appraised bridge engineer and architect in Bridge Constructor. Create and design your own constructions and watch the cars and trucks pass over them – or see them fall and crash while your inferior creations collapse due to weight and the laws of physics!”
Bridge Constructor Ultimate Edition includes the base game with not only a Free Build mode but also the “Slopemania” and “Trains” expansion pack at no additional cost.
The title includes 40 different levels with various obstacles. Players will have to construct bridges over deep valleys, canals, or rivers.
There are a variety of materials available to craft bridges. They include wood, steel, cables, or concrete pillars. The only limit is the player’s budget.
After construction, players must “stress test” their bridges to ensure they’re safe for vehicles to drive over. After the bridge is complete, players can check their score and keep trying to break their records.
Slopemania includes an all-new location called the Tiltin Islands, which is home to three islands. There are 24 levels on the new island with sloping lanes. The more challenging “Crazy Levels” forces the players to creatively construct bridges that pass every stress test.
The “Trains” DLC takes place on the “Choonited Kingdom.” Players can take on the challenge of 18 new levels across the island kingdom. The DLC includes a new type of vehicle to stress test: trains.
Bridge Constructor was previously released in 2013, before the release of the Nintendo Switch. On Steam, “Bridge Constructor Medieval” and “Bridge Constructor Playground” were also included, but Headup Games has not announced if these DLC will be included.
The game is a 225MB download and supports Save Data Cloud storage through the Nintendo Switch Online service. It’s a single-player game with no multiplayer, but players can share their creations online.
Bridge Constructor is available now for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and iOS devices. A release on Android devices is currently in progress.
