Ghost Recon Breakpoint didn’t have the smoothest launch, unfortunately. Its mixed reviews can be attributed to its disjointed open world, bugs, and too similar of elements found in other Ubisoft titles.

Ubisoft Paris has since made improvements, with one of the most noteworthy updates being Immersive mode. Releasing in March, it ups the difficulty and puts more of an emphasis on survival. Fans have enjoyed it for the most part.

Now Ghost Recon Breakpoint plays much differently, but the developer isn’t stopping here. They also have plans of adding AI teammates, which has been a highly requested feature since launch. Players looking to see how they’ll impact gameplay don’t have to remain in suspense either.

This new feature was just revealed in an official trailer at Ubisoft Forward, the all-digital event showcasing a lot of highly anticipated games like Watch Dogs: Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

In the trailer, we see three teammates: Fury, Fixit, and Vasily. They can be accessed at any time. Not only that, but they’re fully customizeable in the beginning. You’ll be able to change up their looks, weapons, gear, and even their behavior.

It’s a great design that that lets solo players determine what sort of team support they’re looking for when things get a little intense on the island of Auroa. What’s particularly interesting about their inclusion is they’ll adapt to situations based on what you do.

For example, say you’re in a certain environment that warrants stealth. As you try to sneak up on your opponents, your AI teammates will follow suit. It’s a smart system that should prevent unwarranted enemy encounters when they’re not needed.

Conversely, if you start taking the fight to enemies in rapid fire battles, they’ll follow along and have your back. You don’t ever have to worry about these AI teammates wandering off on their own and spoiling all of the fun.

Ubisoft Paris is also giving you a command wheel to take advantage of for direct orders. There are four choices that will be available, including regroup, stay put, go forward, and open fire on nearby enemies.

You can access this command wheel at any time and even initiate them using drones. That should give solo players all the more combat possibilities, whether they’re trying to figure out enemy whereabouts or looking to ambush quickly.

AI teammates will be available in a free update that officially launches July 15.
