The Genshin Impact official account has never really released a major bombshell before, but this new tweet tells us that Skirk, perhaps the most infamous Abyss Shadow, is going to drop from the shadows into full view of the world of mortals. And players, are just obsessed with it.
With a veil of mystery covering this tweet, it reads, “The figure cloaked in darkness has appeared… She resides in the Abyss, a place beyond the light of day. No one seems to know anything about Skirk’s past, background, or purpose… It’s as if her very existence is nothing more than an unfounded rumor.” Such a drop of lore is going to fuel theory-making into overdrive.
But who really is Skirk? The million-mora question. The Abyss has probably been one of the most interesting — and terrifying — locations in Genshin from the get-go, a place where the laws of Teyvat do not apply. And now, we actually get to play a character from there? Players have spawned theories that she could be linked to the darker side of the Traveler’s siblings and their ties to the Abyss Order.
The responses to this tweet? Pure chaos.
