Any Genshin players, do mark those dates on your calendars because version 5.7 is set to be unleashed on June 18! Some familiar faces are going to be added to the list of playables. The whole thing had the community turned upside down, reacting either with hype or sometimes with something vaguely akin to disgust: to be honest, I think not everyone was on board with the idea. But more about that later.
Here comes the big news: Skirk and Dahlia, characters already identified in the lore of the game long before, have finally entered the playable pool of characters. This can hardly be called a laughable character drop. There’s new combat styles, story updates, and, of course, the grinding for Primogems (RIP, those who are out of Primogems already, sighed one player with a crying emoji).
The replies on this tweet went somewhere with enough space for a roller coaster of emotions. People are really losing it! CryptnKnight screams: “Oh, she’s coming home, baby,” presumably for one of the characters. More so: Ravindra (aka DecodeNama) has already finalized his dream team: “Finally! Familiar faces joining the fight 🔥 Genshin Impact 5.7 drops June 18 — time to level up your dream team!” Cheers come from Pixel: “Genshin Impact 5.7 is almost here! I can’t wait to see what new characters and adventures await us in Teyvat. ✨”
Going back to the disgruntled types, WASteD says to Genshin, “go back to hell,” which… okay then. Oriental Darter then throws a jibe at gaming culture as a whole, “Gaming post 2010 is just too nerdy. Which grownup man plays these type of games?” (Spoiler: A lot of them, dude.) Eddie, meanwhile, just wants to be playing GTA.
Yet amidst all of this up and down, some really remain on the fence about further jumping into Genshin. Capt. Moon said, “I still haven’t played Genshin Impact. I’ve seen nothing but good things. May check it out!” while Tony Harrison (xboxandps4fan) intends to play whenever he gets a chance, but honestly does not really know when that will be.
And then there is that spotlighted random crypto winner—which of course there is—who thought now was the perfect time to hawk his alternative mining rig. No thanks, Crypto.nukei.
What that update has in store for us? Little by little, even as information is coming out, new story content, new combat systems, with, of course, a fresh offset of gacha pulls ready and waiting to strip you, um, not of your last dollar, but of every single one. Hype and saltiness are the order of the day, while June 18 can’t get here soon enough for the Deities of Genshin.
Hence if for lore, mechanics, or just good entertainment watching the fine citizens of this community losing their minds en masse, Version 5.7 is going to be a wild ride. Bye-bye, exploring a couple of Primogems for the arrival of Skirk. Holy hell, there’s no way I’m falling behind again!
