For Canadian Genshin Impact fans, HoYoVerse really has great news coming-so great that the game’s very first merch pop-up is coming to Toronto this year! From June 21 through 29, 2025, Travelers can at last buy some exclusive loot for themselves without having to endure shipping fees going through the roof. It’s the Genshin Impact event in Canada, and judging by how their previous events have gone, tons of limited collectibles will be made available, along with some surprise announcements or two.

The blue ticked Genshin Impact account took the community by storm, garnering comments in excitement to… well, pretty specific demands for character banners (looking at you-ahem-@3moKonan). There was a hashtag along the lines of #TeyvatGoods2025, teasing that this would not be mass merch drop- so expect some themed displays and maybe some classy interactive elements and with luck, some muppets might show up.

“Woots” of protest began to ascend in stock shortage matters, with @augustbythepond having enunciated the usual sentiment: “How come these always sell out of the most popular items so fast?” It is a fair complaint: favorite items in Berlin and London sold out within hours, thus unable to hold any for those turning up late. With any luck, HoYoVerse aims to stock adequately this time around, perhaps?

That location stirred some interesting conversation in itself. Everybody was amused in Canada, like @Beeper_Bee was, (“finally, it’s my country’s turn”), while some others had already begun the campaign for the next one, the nastiness of which starts on the demand: “Please come to Orlando, thanks,” voiced plainly by @HeidiVids; while @kkazuhafan added onto it begging aloud for Germany next, and with a hint of sarcasm, @cyber_cat_28747 commented: “Spain when? You’ve already come to the UK and France a couple of times.” The thirst for official Genshin merch is real worldwide, clearly.

In the midst of all this, a few random comments were dropped…worthy of a paragraph for themselves. Somehow @KevinGame2013 turned the announcement about merch into “boycott and protest to recast paimon hu Tao keiqing and Candace.” Meanwhile, @Lady__Leia is on point about the “Cafe in Toronto next!!!” because apparently, merch is just not enough; a full-blown Genshin dining experience is on the cards.

Somewhat ironically, the timing also becomes interesting, with June 2025 giving HoYoVerse almost a year to start teasing the event. By then, we would be right in deep in whatever new region is next after Natlan, meaning potential new characters might find their way to the merch table that we don’t even know about yet. Maybe they get an extra bit of juice from teasing at the event itself?

One thing can be guaranteed–those events really will be those you hear about people lining up around the block, people posting photos on social media, and some very creative cosplaying. The big question lies in whether they will have life-size Paimon plushes? If so, we better be booking our flights to Toronto right away.

For those unable to get to Canada (and honestly, most of us), here is hoping they would at least have a chance to grab some of the exclusive merch online later. Even better, they could use it as a test run for other shows in North America. The fact that Genshin Impact enjoys such substantial popularity globally feeds nicely in bridging the digital world of Teyvat with our real need to get our hands on some character keychains that come at nearly a ransom at these events.

According to replies, the announcement divided itself into two sentiments- equal parts FOMO and excitement. Either you plan your Toronto expedition already or sulk because it won’t be in your city, one thing that is clear is the Genshin Impact world is still growing beyond the confines of the game itself. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to check flight prices for Canada for next June…
