New lore is being added to the Raiden Shogun, and people are going crazy over the lore, that is not all. A couple of recent character notes for the Electro Archon, released by the official Genshin Impact Twitter page, set something of a spark on a massive debate about her current state in the game. While some have gone on to call her the “queen of Genshin,” others assert that she’s utmost in need of buffs.
The Tweet is pure Raiden Shogun worship, quoting one of her iconic lines: “In this form shall I honor my subjects’ dream: for a land of Eternity, unchanging forevermore.” Accompanying this Tweet was an official infographic outlining her backstory, but the reply section was chaos. Players were split into two camps: those who adore her and those who believe she has been powercrept out of relevance.
Player @BeelzebulDaily demanded buffs for Raiden, Venti, and Zhongli, actively tagging Genshin Impact and declaring: “Make Electro Archon great again.” Meanwhile, @Balemoonduo finds it weird how a character so powerful lore-wise can feel underwhelming gameplay-wise against the likes of Neuvillette as of late. However, @Zeamays69 firmly declared Raiden has been powercrept by the new characters and seriously needs a buff.
However, this is not a unanimous perception. Alternatives such as @ErichWro replied to the nay-sayers by pointing out his or her 36-star Abyss clears with Raiden, thus showing her viability when built right. Additionally, there are others, like @kiyomidies, who remind the world that not everyone has made the pulls for her, particularly the newer Travelers.
The lore is getting very popular too. @ZeemDream22 praises the infographic for explaining Raiden’s basic story but wishes that more people understood the very idea of her. Then, @blockxs sparked an insane thread by comparing her to some of the world’s dictators before turning the corner and acknowledging her redemption arc.
Just then, the hordes returned. @Water_drop____ screamed in all caps that she deserves more screentime. @DearestRaiden simply welcomed the queen home. Even a humble “Glory to the Shogun!” by @inkmage77 managed to gather some likes.
But enough gossip to spill-players are already setting up to pull for her. @aslamjibrinn_ admitted on Raiden pulls being because of missing out on other meta supports, with @qilinfeline flexing Raiden + signature weapon since 2.2.
While the debate goes on, one thing remains certain: Undeniably, Raiden Shogun remains one of Genshin Impact’s most explosive communities. At the very second they’re talking nonstop about her, it’s time to buff. And if those Archon buff rumors are nothing but a reality, it is going to be the first time the Electro Archon ever gets the recognition she deserves from Hoyoverse.
