Get set, Fortnite buffs, for what will be one crazy ride! A whole new leak that has everyone–and I mean everyone–talking about the whole thing has come out. The holotable at the Rebel base shows some very troubling stages, with the last one…being the Death Star holding the Fortnite island in its sights. Yes, you heard that right. That Death Star. The planet-destroying superweapon from Star Wars. It is locked onto the island.
But, what does this mean? Well, if you’ve been keeping up with Fortnite lore (or just vibing with the chaos), then you know Epic Games really loves destruction, remember Galactus? That big purple guy tries to eat the island? Yeah, it’s kind of like that, only with a dash of sci-fi.
The leak came from Koooooomar, a very well-known Fortnite dataminer, and it’s sent sparkwaves throughout the community. Some gamers are ecstatic, some are skeptical, and a few are just tired of the same “island gets destroyed” storyline. One user, VideogameFan, stated the matter clearly: “So this will be the end of Chapter 6. On to chapter 7, after the island gets vaporized by the Death Star, and we get yet a new island to replace it (for the sixth time now).” And honestly? Good point.
Now, here’s the thing-this is not your regular “map reset” type theory. With the Death Star involved, this obviously means that we are developing a massive crossover event which leads to the possibility of being a Star Wars tie-in…again. Wasn’t it fun when the lightsaber dropped again?
A few believe the Death Star might fire its laser at the broken portal near Crime City that has been reforming lately. Others think its time for the players to destroy the Death Star, and that the wreckage would be scattered through the map to change POIs, something like Seaport City. Then there’s that chaos-fueled vibe coming from Mewtwo150, who just wants the island to be wiped out: “Destroy this shithole and release us from this endless nightmare. Let Save the World become the main mode again.” Harsh but the vibe.
Of course, many are just skeptical. We have replies like, Zzzz (thanks, alfa). There are also those flame-wars with Crimson putting Koooooomar on blast about watermarking his leak (“Did you seriously just watermark a fucking leak 💀 the content doesn’t belong to you bro”). Classic Twitter.
So when’s this going down? No official date just yet, but the leaks stress it will be soon-maybe the next update. And if we learned anything from the past events: it’s chaos. Always chaotic brings chaos; it’s giant monsters, black holes, or…well, Death Stars.
Bottom line? I think the island of Fortnite is once again under serious danger. But seriously now, we know this isn’t the first time. The real question is: how will it happen? Will we build a giant mirror to deflect the laser (shoutout to WCS_Midnights for that)? Will the Resistance somehow save us at the ninetieth minute? Or will the island just…explode, again?
Either way, it’s going to be a wild ride!
