HoYoVerse final tweet got dropped: “A Space and Time for You,” with Version 5.7 Phase II in tow, and it’s sending the Genshin community crazy. The official Tweet is teasing us with the next happenings in Teyvat, but frankly, it’s the rolling massive dramas in the comment section that are grabbing much more attention. Just a moment that surely every Genshin fan can remember.

Right away, the event preview tends to suggest some things. Exciting content that is, and all in all the details are not forthcoming! The official link is supposed to tell you more. There’s a good number of players who refuse to even look there, instead throwing their efforts into speculating on the team comps of the new characters which are all but an open secret at this point. Since when has the Genshin community ever waited for official news to cement their opinions?

That is, in fact, the bigger gossip, as already the players in the comments start turning full Hunger Games for the pyro characters debate. Timely Durin put the ball in motion with the question, “Should we pull Mavuika or Emilie?” This soon became the Battle of Winterfell, with takes hotter than a Diluc ult: “You have shit for DPS so Mav,” said LEOstrious, possibly the cruelest character diss since someone basically described Amber as “free trial Bennett.”

More insane is that SW4RAJ is constanly simping for Iansan with every declaration in caps, while ObiAlmighty is in a full existential crisis, screaming, “GET MAVUIKA OUTTA HERE BRO PLEEASE GET ME OUT OF NATLAN GOD PLEASE GET ME OUT OF NATLAN.” A mood, honestly. That Natlan hype (and dread) is genuine.

We have another fight starting about weapons versus characters. Right now, CrystalRossii is bragging about one million damage with Charlotte (agreed, food buffs do not count – berby100), people who were ready to start their C6R5 pulls now for future characters, and then GenshinXOanime declared that they were saving for maxed-out Columbina. Also, some poor schmuck malignant New-player ShdwzTV is here just to figure out how pity works; welcome to hell, buddy.

Security concerns were uttered first with cAptive_Squared warning of potential hacking occurrences during co-op events; in rebuttal, ChaoticIceQueen politely suggested he “touch grass”. The duality of Genshin players: half will be paranoid about potential account hacking; the other half will just want to know the best build for big-tick numbers.

The craziest thing about all of this is the level of speculation generated from even the smallest heap of information. People already went on a debate about Mavuika’s viability as if she has been in the meta for years and only just now been rumored. The pyro milk discourse (thanks, ObiAlmighty) only goes on to show this fandom will meme into existence anything. And the random petition for a future electro character to not be a bow user just adds fuel to the fire.

Well, as usual, gacha trauma is always the real endgame. Players calculating pity, flexing damage showcases, and threatening to rip their wallets (“I love her to my bank account better be ready”); that’s exactly how it’s been, exactly how it will be in Teyvat. The Phase II events might be about space and time, but the community remains eternally chaotic.

If you are supporting the actual gameplay content or the dumpster fire that the character debates are sure to become, Version 5.7 Phase II is going to provide for both. Now if you will excuse me, I am off to see how many primogems I can collect before Mavuika’s banner.
