Now that we’re under two weeks away from the release of Borderlands 3, developer Gearbox has started to reveal some of the post-launch content that will be coming to the game before the end of the year. Of course, the game won’t be short on content when it’s released on September 13, but the developers will continue to add to things to BL3 throughout the rest of the year and beyond.

After Borderlands 3 is released in just under two weeks, the game will receive two free event updates, and on top of that, Gearbox will drop the game’s first DLC expansion, and, as previously mentioned, all of these things will be added to the game before the end of the year.

The two events, which are being called Bloody Harvest and Maliwan Takedown, will include new content, new activities, new enemies, and exclusive rewards. Also, both of these events will be completely free.

Unfortunately, the game’s first DLC expansion wasn’t detailed by Gearbox, as they only promised to have it out before the end of the year. But, it’ll likely bring players to new areas, showcase new weapons, and introduce players to new enemies and boss fights.

While the developers didn’t say anything about adding new content to the game in 2020, it’s pretty much a guarantee that they will. As of this writing, the game only has four playable characters – Amara (The Siren), FL4K (The Beast Master), Moze (The Gunner), and Zane (The Operative) – so it’s probably pretty safe to assume that more playable characters will be added to the game as part of its first DLC expansion.

As previously mentioned, Borderlands 3 will release with a ton of content, as the developers have said that the main story will take around 35 hours to complete. Of course, if you choose to do all of the optional side quests, then the game will take significantly longer to finish.

In regards to the length of the game’s main story, Borderlands 3 is right on par with the first two games and the Pre-Sequel. But, it’ll probably have significantly more post-launch content added to it than all of its predecessors.

With the game scheduled to be released on September 13, we’ll probably see and hear a lot more about the game in the coming days, although Gearbox has already revealed a ton of information about the game, so they might not have much more to show before BL3 hits consoles and PC.
