Turn 10 Studios has finally released Forza Motorsport Update 21, and it fixes a feature for private lobbies that racers have begged for forever-manual starting grid adjustments. That means the host can move drivers about before the race starts; major for league racing, in an environment of friends, or just messing about with your pals by slapping them around with an exhausted slot!
The option is now made active attentively through the Event Setup menu, so the host can now confirm or edit those starting positions with impunity. But, random acts of grid chaos? Never again-merely unless you’re into that. I mean, who isn’t? Sometimes it’s the best thing ever!
While this is a cool QoL update, reactions beneath the original Forza tweet showed that there was still an appetite for much more. Like, A LOT more. There were outright requests for allowing AI cars into private lobbies-in multiple comments. “Please give us the ability to add AI cars,” said one, as another jokingly retaliated: “All 2 people wanting drag racing will rejoice!” (Phew.)
The dynamic weather debate took another turn when one player said he had not seen any dynamic weather on multiplayer for a YEAR, which… yikes? That would have been a massive oof if true. Another chipped in with, “Now dynamic weather on multiplayer,” because apparently, that’s still a sore point.
This probably wasn’t the biggest hit in present cars, foremost among the excited cries that “New tracks, when?” came up because Forza players don’t ever stop asking for fresh asphalt. One reply even mentioned Marina Bay and Long Beach, two fan-favorite circuits that have appeared in a couple of previous games but haven’t yet made the transition to the newest.
That’s something not everybody gives a thumbs up to. Another angry newcomer had gone ahead and uninstalled: “I can’t play a game when its own company doesn’t give a sht about it.” Harsh, but passions run long and deep in sim-driving circles.
The hopeful ones are still holding out for drag racing lobbies, UDP data updates for PC players, and the sharing of cars in private races (because let’s be real, not all your friends have grind-out-the-game time to produce a maxed-out hypercar).
Sure Update 21 is a good thing, but the Forza community is one heck of a wishlist. Will Turn 10 follow through? Time (and some angry tweets) will tell.
Remember to start up that private lobby now with full grid control for anyone into organized racing-especially You! Just don’t go overboard… unless your friends deserve it.
