Are we worth it? Four days to go, and the leaks and rumors seem to feed the demand of every enthusiastic fan. Soon, Epic Games would let the Galactic Battle mini-season that might well be the last time they will have a big celebration for it, and players are already going abuzz, speculating about what is to come or what they think should be coming.
So what does the update come with? Live event files (the best, obviously), bombardments from Star Destroyers (I mean, who really does not want to welcome some insane and instantaneous chaos raining down from orbit?), some juicy leaks for Season 3, and more Star Wars collab skins-actually an amazing skin lineup from Fortnite.
…but the feels can never remain idle. Replies to this particular tweet are mixed: excitement, disappointment, and downright demands. One player even plainly stated, “If C-3PO is not there, I give up Epic Games.” Harsh? Maybe. But also… fair. The golden droid has been the glaring absence from the Star Wars lineup, and fans are definitely not gonna let this one slide.
Then, there’s @rouillespencer holding Epic to account over a supposed insider leak of a confirmed C-3PO. If he doesn’t show up, well… it’s fair to say that some trust issues will be set in. Meanwhile, @jong0fett_87 just wants those lightsaber pickaxes-it’s an easy sell really. How did it take us so long to get one?
But the criticisms continue! Other players such as @boricozi are calling it one of the “worst seasons” they can remember. Ouch. Some other users like @NotARealUser69 express relief that it’s nearly over: they deemed this season “garbage.” So harsh; the fans really don’t hold back.
And then comes the confusion over whether this is really Season 3 or just another mini-season. @d_buchan09 walks in with the correction: Galactic Battle is not Season 3; it is a mini-season. So for all those that have prematurely started moving on, true Season 3 is still out there waiting to be unveiled.
So in some weird way, this update carries a lot of weight. For some, it is probably the very last chance of ever grabbing their favorite Star Wars skins (yeah, I’m looking at you, C-3PO truther). For some others, it’s the death knell of the season’s reputation, and for the optimists such as @LEGOMoonNite, this mega-update is going to deliver “something huge” that will alleviate the pain of a content drought.
Where does that leave us, then? In four days, everything. One thing could be said for sure: this Epic Games release comes with mountains of expectations. For new skins, event marketing surprises, or dudebro lightsaber pickaxes.
If not, C-3PO? Well… let’s see if Epic’s servers can handle the smackdown instead.
