This is another wild update from the Fortnite item shop, as players are having a very strange feeling about it lately. Two fresh skins are priced at 1,500 V-Bucks apiece, bringing with them fan-favorites like Moff Gideon, IG-11, The Weeknd, and Lexa Hexbringer. As the mantra of the community goes, it is a very nice mixture of hype, frustration, and outright confusion.
Now let’s talk about the new skins. The usual division of Epic Games does the old thing about having the customary 1,500 V-Bucks, which is about $15 USD. The negative comments started flowing from some players, like Aryan Tomar on Twitter: “The new skins are not worth 1500 v bucks.” Then there’s Steven Jeffrey, who went on and accused Fortnite unfair price manipulation and outright removal of rarity indicators.
And… oh no, it is chaotic” now. Returnee skins featuring Moff Gideon and IG-11 of Star Wars fame. Wildchild styles The Weeknd and Lexa Hexbringer. Twitter user gork summarized it best: “looks like a thrift store exploded in there why is the weeknd chilling with a star wars villain wtf.” Imagine The Weeknd doing a show at the Star Wars cantina; that’s the vibe we’re getting here.
Fans awaiting these real returns are bringing the drama to life. Martin (@mkz7l), losing hope for the T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator skin), said: “I start to lose hope about t800, Im still waiting for him for about 1 month, wth is happening?” With longing for T-800 and Ash Williams (Evil Dead), Drench (@Thegrinchh32) says jokingly: “I swear if I didn’t have the vbucks I have right now T800 and ash Williams would of came to the item shop quick asl.”
On the other hand, some are just sick and tired of seeing the same old skins roll back into the store. NOMOREXANS puts it bluntly: “It’s always the same damn skins rotating back in epic’s got no juice left fr.” And…I kind of have to agree. If you have been playing for a little while, the shop is really starting to give you that déjà vu feeling.
That said, not everyone is in a sour mood. Romaisa Khan (@Romaisa126) was hyped, tweeting: “Sweet skins dropping soon hype rising.” Those who hope to see the arrival of their favorite characters are also getting into action (Anyone from Andor?).
So what’s the verdict? Yet another day with both hype and salt being showered on Fortnite’s item shop. Will Epic ever bring back the T-800? Are The Weeknd and Moff Gideon going to make one hell of a duo? Nobody knows. One thing is for sure: The Fortnite shop will remain something people talk about-whether they be happy or ready to riot.
Head to the in-game shop to see these new skins (or just grab some popcorn and watch the chaos). And if you want, use code “HYPEX” to support the leaker who spilled this news. Just don’t say we didn’t warn you. Your wallet will cry.
