The whole situation arose because Fortnite Lego tweeted that Clyde was in the shop today… except, no, Clyde wasn’t in the shop. And are the players happy about this? No way. The players, after the tweet went up, ran to check the shop, and boom, Clyde was not there. Just promises that were empty, nothing to cherish on, and hope crushed. Classic Epic Games move.

The tweet was pretty straightforward; an uptight heads-up message about Clyde’s availability. Players logged into grab him, and nothing happened. Absolutely nothing happened. There is an amazing comment chain: furious rants to hilarious memes- the Fortnite community brought it all.

One player, CatQueenB91, mentioned buying jam tracks instead, since Clyde wasn’t there: “context notes attacked their post immediately 🤣”. Godzillo speculated: “I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gonna be the next Lego pass”. Smart thinking really- maybe this was all just a tease for something bigger. Or maybe Epic just messed up. Who knows at this point.

Denzel Pattersoned: “Fetuses and Furry lovers are the only ones that care about this skin.” Ouch, that was harsh, but it was kind of funny, actually. Rojo went full-conspiracy mode with “JUSTICE FOR CLYDE @LEGOFortnite ITS TOO LATE RELEASE HIM NOW WE CAUGHT YOU SPEAK UP NO MORE HIDING CLYDE WE ARE COMING FOR YOU.” Like, damn dude, it’s just a skin…or is it?

Then it got weirder when tgraybird came about and blocked drama due to their stance of “Terrible skin anyway we don’t care.” Then the responses came flying from Sub_Zero7077: “Terrible Opinion, 🤡..” while galacticnus said, “bros getting blocked for telling the truth.” Doesn’t the internet ever change?

Some are taking this personally, like GStallions999s, who went on: “I remember I wanted the skin and now I don’t care, epic doesn’t want my money, that’s why I don’t want it 😭”. The emotional rollercoaster that is Fortnite cosmetics strikes again. Meanwhile, _Jessman_ is trying to look at least from the bright side- “Bullshit aside, at least that means they plan on doing it soon.”

Of course, Happy Videogamer asks the questions worthy of being asked – “were is he”. Deep stuff, dude. Deep stuff.

Anyway, with all the drama, players began to wonder if this was an accidental early tweet, a tease of something to come soon, or just another round of Fortnite trolling one of their player bases. And, knowing Epic and their history, any of these could be true.

When Clyde does pop up, this will be one of the famous moments in history, where the buying of the skin will either be in protest or outright rejection. (Now to the mysterious case awaiting the whole Fortnite community) Clyde just vanished from the face of Fortnite Earth, and an explanation from Epic for leading their hopes on.

This drama is still unfolding; players check the shop every day. Some are almost positive he’s gonna be a Lego pass, others feel this whole thing was a mistake. In any case, that little hiccup only put more fuel to the already burning passion (not to mention, comedic) of the Fortnite community when they’re wronged by the item shop.

Will Clyde appear someday? Probably. Will the player base ever forgive him for this treachery? Might be an entire lifetime. With a few V-Bucks in repayment.
