Bad news hit Fortnite players regarding the Mandalorian skin: the Mandalorian Cape Back Bling cannot be used in conjunction with the Mandalorian Battle Pass skin. Yes, you’ve got that right. There is only one cape for Djarin, to the chagrin of some of the community.
The saga began when iFireMonkey, a noted Fortnite leaker and insider, stormed Twitter. The tweet itself was bare-bones, “The Mandalorian Cape Back bling isn’t allowed to be used with the Mandalorian Battle Pass Skin.” So much for that: the replies got loud and mad. Some were like, “Uh, duh?” While others were filled with total disappointment with the new info.
@TheAgentShadow has rightly said, “Well yeah he already has a cape.” That really has been the only rational take. The Mandalorian default skin doesn’t just have any cape: it has the iconic cape. Adding a new one would just be… nothing short of weird. Kind of like putting on two jackets at once. Who does that?
And of course, some were not happy with the answer. Players like @Racager_ wanted to know if there was any workaround: “I wanted them to make the original cape go away so the new one would be there.” A fair idea, but you may have to face the truth-Epic is indifferent to such cosmetic changes.
Then there were the indifferent few. Hit us with some classic words of, “Don’t care #MakeBattlefront3,” said @Ryangofett2490, and honestly? It speaks exactly how we feel. Meanwhile, @Cowboy24Beast said what needed to be said: “It’s almost like he already has 1.” Come on guys, did we really need to dedicate a whole tweet to that?
The problem is way bigger than just about capes. It’s about Fortnite’s strangely nautical strictness on cosmetics. “@H__L__M__W: Cape skins have always had other capes blacklisted.” Yeah, this isn’t anything new. Remember back then not being able to put a cape on Drift? Exactly.
The timing, however, is somewhat amusing. The Mandalorian skin is old-school now-It was a Battle Pass exclusive way back in Chapter 2, Season 5. So why the hell are we still talking about it? According to iFireMonkey, “People asked about it in the previous tweet, which is why this tweet was made.” So basically, the entire drama was born because some folks wanted to know. Classic Internet.
Let’s never forget the real star of the show: Baby Yoda. Or, uh, Grogu. Whatever. @fmccjjryj nailed it with, “on bro we’re using baby yoda.” Because at the end of the day, who needs a cape when you’ve got an adorable little green sidekick?
So yeah, that’s the scoop. No double-capers for Mando, and honestly? That’s probably for the best. Real questions arise now: will Epic finally give us that Battlefront 3? (Probably not.) Will they add more Star Wars skins? (Hopefully.) And most importantly, when can we get a Wookiee skin?
One thing that is certain: there is never an end to Fortnite’s cosmetic drama! And honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way. So on that note, we’re about to flaunt the Mandalorian skin with zero capes, just to spite the system.
