OK Go released a crazy emote collab with Fortnite, and everyone seems to have reacted differently. The Upside Down & Inside Out emote is now in the Item Shop, allowing players to get their groove on with dances inspired by the band’s weightless-style music video. Reactions ranged from very excited to perplexed and downright roasting it.
The emote replicates the floating dance from the Upside Down and Inside Out music video, wherein the bandmates perform anti-gravity antics inside a plane that simulates weightlessness. Epic also gifted fancy extras like floating bubbles to echo the theme of the video. However, some players were not pleased with it. One player said the emote was straight-up “trash,” and another one said, “Fck is that?” Ouch.
Not all the responses, however, were negative. Some fans, including user xenowulf, popped some champagne and screamed, “NO WAY OK GO IN FORTNITE?? LEGENDS.” Someone also said their physics teacher used this clip to explain zero-gravity simulations. So Jordan, indeed, this emote is layered.
Still, another common critique appears to be on the execution. Some players think the bubbles are flat compared with the shiny and bouncy ones in the actual music video. “I genuinely thought the emote was unfinished,” one expressed. Others just wanted a different emote altogether, especially the supposed 15 Minutes one.
Meanwhile, OK Go stans dipped back into their claws defying the collab with: “People in these comments have no soul.” And honestly? Fair. The band has been known for the craziest insane one-take videos ever, so seeing them in Fortnite is underwhelmingly surreal.
It is live in the Item Shop now if you want to grab it. Support the leaker who broke the story first by applying the creator code “Shiina.” For those still sitting on the fence, watch the official music video first–half of the comments recommend it.
This means that another day, another Fortnite collab filled with chaos. Be it love or hate, this is how Epic usually spends their fun hours. I might watch the music video 50 times again now.
