If some of the top-caliber Fortnite players ever go out for a locker update, now they should go for it full-throttle. HYPEX leaked the news about two brand-new emotes launching in the Item Shop together with a return of Stormy Slog! The announcement gave chills to the community, with some colleagues galloping for joy while others…well, maybe not so much.
Most importantly, let’s talk about the emotes. The update came about on Twitter from HYPEX, a newsworthy Fortnite leaker and content creator, even including a link to grab the new content. Want to give him some love? Type out his code “HYPEX” while checking out. It’s that simple. But what are the emotes? The reactions were actually quite mixed but just to highlight a few, some players like @JossWizardX clearly said “fresh,” while others such as @Peter_Scrub definitely said “They suck.” Classic.
Then there’s the return of Stormy Slog, umbrella-breaking, storm-warning emote! Those in the know will tell you there is a hidden mechanic: after probably 20-30 seconds, a lightning bolt will strike and smite down the gifted umbrella that for a while saved you from the roar of that thunderstorm. @Kannakamuisama made that mention, and it is a neat little detail. Meanwhile, @StormTaker_ jokingly remarked, “No fair giving people a warning that I’m on my way.”
Never a Fortnite update without a flood of cries for the player requests in the replies. Some of the requests are for gloriously quirky oldies such as Orange Justice and Among Us crewmates (@ChrevK), while others are trying to get Street Fighter skins back before this season ends (@shinmuon, @Kylee34055669). Let’s not forget some hopefuls for Alan Wake (@shmoukin_doup) and Future War Bundle stans (@GonzalezJu70518).
Have you ever seen an Epic banner advertising emotes but never skins that everybody is crying to bring back?-that’s the real question. @TiTanSwan27 jesting noted: “They are running out of ideas,” while @imjohey went on to basically slap Fortnite in the face by saying, “Make a good emote challenge.” Ouch.
And then there’s the mystery-the storm-themed background in the announcement sparked some speculation. @SewerSideBitch wants to know if that was a teaser for next season. Maybe it was. Or maybe Epic just really likes dramatic weather.
Anyways, new things are always a hot topic among Fortnite fans, be it for or against. So quietly walk to Item Shop and grab those emotes, or go on and rekindle some Stormy Slog madness. And if you want to double down on generosity, the code HYPEX should be put into action. This guy is really doing the community solid by keeping everyone in the loop.
