Alright, racing fans, strap yourselves in because F1 25 is due to release very soon, and pre-load hype has been all around. Well, folks, EA Sports has just announced that it might already be downloading for the Xbox, Steam, and EA Play members. For PlayStation players, don’t feel left out; your turn is just around the corner. Anybody owning the Iconic Edition can darn well download it whenever since May 25, whereas Standard Edition owners have to sit and wait till May 28. Strange division, yes, but it’s here in a very literal sense.
Pre-loading simply involves downloading a game just a couple of hours before or on the launch day itself, just so one does not have to wait a moment after it is released and begins feeling that adrenaline rush in the very first minute of gameplay. Makes sense, especially if you have slow internet speed.
The comments section is an open invitation to chaos on Twitter, as usual. Some are upbeat, like Forest Price II, who has already pre-ordered and is excited to see the differences. Others? Not so much. Classic Joe Armer disappointment: “same game from last year but you get to download it again at a surcharge.” Ouch. Then Austin Alvarez comes in asking, “Is steering and brake assist stronger this time?”. Bro, just buy the game and find out.
And then the slamming from the Battlefront 3 bunch. Like clockwork, whenever EA posts something, people scream about Battlefront. Even Cyber Frost could not resist dropping a meme. It is almost like they have a sixth sense for EA tweets.
Then there’s a salty PlayStation crowd rolling around and Flo going full on drama mode, saying the game was “already broken before launch” since the pre-load wasn’t working. Just restart your PC, bud. Crisis-averted.
And then cover-art drama. Chicano Cozy is roasting EA for putting a rookie on the cover and claiming they’re “not even a generational talent.” Then Rixi replies with “just say you’re broke.” Twitter never disappoints.
Oh, and shout-out to Serge Rft with the French “cela fonctionne merci” (that works, thanks). Always good to see international hype.
So F1 25 is going to be hot-fresh, and the mess is already spilling over on gaming Twitter. Whether you are here for the race or just for some drama, it will be one hell of a ride. Now, pre-load that bad boy and burn some rubber away-higher ups humpware. Or you could go on a patient fast until your platform deems it worth loading. In either instance, the finish line is pretty much in sight.
Speaking of… If still waiting for Battlefront 3… maybe consider another tweet. Just so you know.
