Yet once again, a new look at Elena’s Outfit 2 has had Street Fighter III and Ultra Street Fighter IV fans giddy with joy. The immediately recognizable character ensemble and aura of color really hark back to the classic looks. And yes, of course, there had to have been a picture taken!
Now who is Elena really? For those who do not know anything about the character, she is hyper-extra-fast, capoeirista from Kenya, and first appeared in Street Fighter III. Her style is flowing movement with lots of kicks and rhythm, which distinguishes her from the heavy hitters of the cast. She has been supported by the fans for quite some years now, especially the fans of fast characters.
Now, this isn’t just another stereotypical rehash; this is in fact a very modern reworking of Elena’s original look, retaining the tribal-inspired details but sharpening everything to the point of being almost naked in its appeal to modern graphics. The colors are shocking and pop; the textures are crisp, and I dare say-miles ahead of some of the alternate skins we have seen in other fighting games.
What is this, then, from the stuff-hitting-the-fan point of view? There are two sides to every coin: one is style and the other is substance. Costumes are not mere cosmetics; they truly weave into the character’s identity. The personality is loud and clear about Elena’s design, and the HD’s return is a huge love letter to the older fans. So that countdown for nostalgia on Capcom is surely on.
The next question is, when will we see it in action? As for the actual release, there has been no word yet, but given that Street Fighter 6 is in the latter stages of DLC development, this one will surely not be the last surprise. A possible trailer showcasing Elena as she graces all over the screen in her menacing self should make its way with a very fast heart.

Yup, Capcom is really on the docket: a foregone conclusion we dare not miss-steeped with equal parts nostalgia and bling. Now, just about all that remains is to confirm Dudley. But, since Elena is back and sharper than ever, this warrants copious celebration.
