The Street Fighter 6 community is surely gonna riot in the streets when Elena shall be going live in the SF6 roster on June 5. Yay! The announcement has only just been made, and players are already straining their ears (or debating her looks; we shall get to that).

The legendary SF III character returns in full force and not just with her Capoeira-like kicks but with her own brand new World Tour Mode location called Reniala Remains. To meet her, you have to complete the main mission [Chapter 7-2], go to your Hangout, and select the “One Fateful Day” menu. Yep, it is THAT kind of thing.

Now here comes the twist again-a few players actually say that to even unlock her missions, you must first become Manon’s student. Wait, what? What in the world does Elena have to do with Manon? That is the curveball no one saw coming. Perhaps this is an excuse for a dance-off prerequisite? Only time will tell.

Oh, the reactions-a roller coaster of emotions! Some swear by it, saying they welcomed her with open arms, with a little input from @IamMeTV, who went, “CUTE! ADORABLE EVEN!” On the contrary… well, not everyone would declare that she’s been designed in the most admirable way. @TakiOneLove loosed, “Honestly, this the ugliest Elena ever been.” Ouch! Many have countered that by saying, judging just from World Tour graphics is ridiculous since fighters look way better in Fighting Ground.

Now, about the whole business of appearing under the “One Fateful Day” menu. Traditionally, the guest fighters (Akuma, Bison) have been promoted under this menu. So why did Elena, one core SF character, get the same scant VIP treatment? @DarthPhazon speculates that it’s because Capcom is finding more ways to extend World Tour in ways players never expected, which… is cool, but why wasn’t she just placed in the base game?

And, of course, no Street Fighter update is uncontested without those usual nerf calls. @KemarSimpson9 rants about, “Nerf akuma, mai, m.bison like wtf,” while others argue that Capcom has never balanced on the basis of some kind of personal grudge. To this, @RuiCost58168533 responds, “They won’t nerf characters just because you hate fighting them.” Preach.

Beyond the Elena hype, players are begging Capcom to get more World Tour locations as real stages. @day_patch peaked, “Please add these stunning World Tour locations as stage options.” Like yeah, can we fight in the cool places outside of story mode?

And the ever-passionate rants about the content drought of Street Fighter 6, @JoshTD27 said straight-out, “Capcom u better deliver on Season 3. Just see how frustrated your players are with the lack of meaningful content.” Ouch. Meanwhile, @KaleEggplant joined @JoshTD27 to agree that SF6 is “dry as hell,” so… pressure’s now on Capcom.

And shout again to @Anrho04 for saying, “Congratulations for outliving Mortal Kombat 1.” Damn.

Now, what do you say? Elena is coming with new missions, and a bunch of players simply cannot keep themselves calm. Either they are hyping it or roasting the design. At any rate, June 5th shall be a big day for Street Fighter 6. And Capcom, in return, throw some stages and maybe a patch for balance.

Until then, get ready either to bust moves or complain. Possibly both.
