Attempting to float his beastly energy into the spotlight, Techland has dropped a major reveal: Kyle Crane is back. The official Dying Light Twitter account hyped one feature in a tweet: “Become Kyle Crane, a unique hero with the DNA of a survivor and a beast. Get ready to Unleash the Beast!” Anyone familiar with the Dying Light community are currently swooning.
First things first, what do we know? The tweet gave a link to wishlist the update (because, you know, of course, it did) accompanied by this gorgeous artwork of Kyle Crane and the other beastly one tearing a zombie apart with his bare hands. The replies? Pure chaos. Players have been calling him “the BEAST of All!” while others have been debating how this new mechanic will work. But @TeamShattSean simply asked whether there’ll be any need to force activation of Beast Mode in every fight, since the screen might go all gray. Really dramatic when @bugalathecat responds, “It’ll be from a push of a button you obviously don’t have to.” Would there be drama? Then it probably does.
The hotter question remains: when is this coming out? Jokes from a fan named @ArseniusCeasar: “you should release it in july, august is a busy month for me, hahaha.” Meanwhile, @shagqz, apparently Polish, went full rage mode on the release towards the end of the summer break: Roughly translated? “What idiotae came up with the brilliante idea to release this at the end of the damn holidays?” So true!
Then there was the allure of a collectors edition. @Charles_D99 jumped in to ask if this will be a fancy physical version, with @ThatguyRy05 demanding, “Physical disc please!” And then @gpaw7373 spilled the reality, “Wish I could…just broke as hell.” Same, sir. Same.
There was the good old crossplay now, with @Collin42869917 throwing shade: “don’t like this comment if there’s full crossplay between console and pc.” Oof. The tension is REAL.
All that enthusiasm is not only for the mechanics but also for Kyle Crane’s return drenched in emotion. @Codex_Seeker waxed poetical: “I am so ready to play as this legend again, but with a twist, this time, of course,” while @MrSlurp4 intoned, “Kyle looks so pissed off hes in his peak now.” Very true.
And to the Dead by Daylight fans, @invincibleFan_ had this to say: “kyle crane should be a survivor in dbd.” Not a bad idea.
What follows still has no window from Techland, but with all the buzz, it can’t be too far off now. Players are speculating, debating mechanics, and whining about the time-will-happens. Classic gamer community.
One thing is for sure: When Beast Mode lands, the zombies won’t be the only ones screaming. For now, brace yourselves as we watch Kyle Crane go full monster, and we will have a great time. With that, excuse us while we prepare to refresh that wishlist page until our fingers bleed.
