The world’s biggest streamer, Dr Disrespect, in conjunction with the majestic World II persona that he has put on for years in competitive shooters, is taking a breather from Call of Duty for some time. And well, can you really hold him against it? The one and only Doc sent shockwaves through the CoD community with a tweet, stating that the franchise is “the worst it’s ever been,” and this was the best timing for him to take a vacation.

The tweet came alongside the swanky promo-like artwork and the trademark Doc words, “Violence. Speed. Momentum.” This comment immediately sparked a backlash; some players agreed, others questioned him on why he keeps playing a game he condemns so much.

One response voiced the frustration of many: “Can’t believe you still play COD, and you think a few weeks vacation and cod will be better? This shit has been fucked for years, they don’t care about gameplay they care about skins.” Ouch.

Others defended the Doc; at some point, an Epstein Island joke came up, which was just inappropriate, followed by a jab referring to Doc’s controversial past with, “He prefers under-18 baud.”

How perfect the timing for a break. While rumors are circulating about new modes and updates for Warzone, some players wonder if Doc will miss the paradigm shift for the game. Then again, with Doc recently spitting about SBMM and how the franchise is being steered, maybe that break is needed after all.

Maybe he is onto something. Call of Duty has been in a very weird place lately-wrong balancing choices, microtransactions, and a fracturing community. How even the greatest fan is able to feel burnt out is not hard to fathom.

So what does that leave us with? Doc is stepping away for now, but you know: either it’s going to be a classic two-timing explosion or he’s really going dark for something else.

One thing we do know, though: The Two-Time coming back will be must-watch content. Until then, enjoy the silence, champs.
