Discord’s June 2025 patch notes have gone live. It does not bode well for gamers who use the platform to coordinate raids, stream games, or just chill in voice chats. Among other things, the update aims at a smooth user experience irrespective of what device the user may be on; because really, who isn’t putting Discord across more than one device these days?

Next comes the big one: voice message playback controls. Tune up or tune down those long, boring voice notes from your mates, finally. Get no more three minutes of loot drop that one could be listening to at 1x speed. Increase the speed, get there, that is what siding really wants to hear! Even better, it tracks your progress should you switch apps or channels, so you never have to say, “Oh no! I just lost the place; my friend was halfway through a story.”

Mobile users are also not left behind. Higher quality embeds have been enabled for image uploads, together with faster processing times. This translates into less time for loading your meme and more for proper roasting from your mates. Additionally, Android users got better app link handling; clicking a Discord invite from an app will not leave one staring at a broken browser tab anymore.

Some, obviously, cast strong doubts about that being half the cooking. The announcement tweet was immediately flooded with request for further upgrades. User Sam太懒惰了, (translation: SamIsLazy) asked about the ever-elusive orb feature, said to be in the hands of just 4% of users with the other 96 being left in chains. Another, g., grilled Discord about when nameplate purchases (those cool profile decorations) are going to hit mobile. In classic Discord fashion: Drop a solid update; now, the whole community is asking for the next.

Discord’s tweet featured all the patch notes, dusted with fixes here and there, and under-the-hood changes. It is not remembered as an earth-shattering update, but rather the kind that smoothened over some patches of Discord and made life at least a little less irritable each day. Now if they could fix that other bug whereby everyone thinks you are muted but no one actually bothered to tell you while being in the voice chat…there’s a chef’s kiss.

So yeah—voice messages that are faster, crisper uploads for the mobile, and less fail for links on Android. Not bad for a summer patch. Aight, go ahead and have fun raising a little more havoc in your group chats.
