Dead by Daylight just went and threw in a plot twist with no one talking about it- Assassin’s Creed is entering the Fog! Yes, I said it. A survival-horror title doing a crossover with Ubisoft’s big stealth-action game sent the internet into a frenzy; a full scale of keyboard-smashing and high-pitched shrieking!

The official account of Dead by Daylight released a cryptic hint regarding the collaboration with a message that said: “Step into The Fog. A new Dead by Daylight quest begins. Slip through the shadows. Survive the ordeal.” And then, you guessed it, everybody lost it. Some were hyped; others were still confused, while a few are still trying to figure out how exactly a hidden blade would stand against an enormously tall maniac with a chainsaw.

Reactions just came pouring in like a survivor going down, but the killer was tunneling. One fan, @nel_darmo threatened to “SCREAM UNTIL THE DAY I DIE” should Kassandra of AC Odyssey become a survivor, while another fan, @CHEEZYSPAM is already thinking about what kind of cosmetics they are going to rock: “I can’t wait to be a stealthy survivor being stalked by a stealthy Ghostface.” Bless their soul: the very thought of Ghostface hiding in a haystack ready to launch is horrifying.

Of course, there were dissidents. @Ferriswheelsays countered with, “Why would you drag other games into the abyss?” Got him. Meanwhile, @NoTTunaX540 had…interesting predictions, suggesting that Yasuke (from the upcoming AC Shadows) might be a killer fueled by rage. Yep, this happened first.

What indeed is the burning question everyone has on their lips? What is this partnership going to look like? Cosmetics only? A full chapter with a brand-new killer and survivor? The teaser was pretty thin on details, but the fans are already blanketing the internet with possibilities. Some are hoping for Naoe, the shinobi from AC Shadows, as a survivor, while others want an Ezio skin so they can style on killers while parkouring away.

And ahem… the elephant in the room? This came way before that long-rumored Five Nights at Freddy’s chapter. @YSkayman is forever quoted as saying, “We got Assassin’s Creed Collab before FNaF chapter.” That didn’t go well for FNaF fans.

Neither Ubisoft nor Behaviour Interactive is letting the curtains down on the specifics just yet, but if that wild doesn’t even begin to describe it, surely, it’s something no one ever imagined. Whether in excitement or horror, Dead by Daylight has made sure that they don’t discriminate and nobody is safe in The Fog.

So anyone down to watch assassins attempt to 360-dodge a demogorgon? This is some chaotic energy we’re about to witness.
