Here is some fresh news for Switch 2 players: Gyroscopic aiming! This basically changes the whole dynamic of the game. According to the CyberpunkGame Twitter page, players now tilt their Joy-Con™ controllers to aim better and line up smoother headshots. While Switch 2 players are having a party, the PS5 crowd is wondering why this feature still is absent from Sony’s console.
The tweet did showcase the new gyro controls and were then flooded with replies that ranged from very angry to some glimmers of hype. One such player, @gaalxxo, bluntly asked: “Why Nintendo has gyroscope aim for cyberpunk, and PS5 don’t?” Well? That is a good question. The DualSense controls have motion controls on PlayStation, so what is keeping CD Projekt Red from bringing this feature to PS5? Users @thmisabeach and @MrMonFlowers have also asked the devs to bring gyro support in the next update, one of them mentioning that it is “peak” for shooters.
However, others remain unconvinced about gyro aiming. Some, such as @imajanitor, say it is imprecise and aim assist just adds more to the mess. In reply, @Saico98N7 sarcastically questioned whether Cyberpunk 2077 even runs at 720p on that “garbage console.” That’s a little harsh.
Among the commotion, some wacky requests started to come through, like from @MattMetalbelly asking for more fashion ASAP in Night City and @RealFehold, with a classic, direct, and straight-to-the-point demand: “New DLC when?” Others like @DanielTenggren wanted to thank the devs for the port and to say that it is the way they prefer playing using gyro.
The biggest takeaway: For some, gyro aiming is an upgrade; for others, it’s an outright gimmick, and it’s a sore spot for PS5 players. With the 2.3 update still in development, do we have hope that CD Projekt Red answer the demand, or will Switch 2 players remain strutting with motion control superiority? That will be answered in a few short days.
Meanwhile, if you happen to have yourselves a Switch 2, toss those Joy-Con controllers, and start tilting because this is going to be as smooth as butter for enemy drops. And of course, if you are on PS5… might want to start a petition!
