Cradle Games has announced the official release date for its upcoming title Hellpoint. The game will be released on multiple platforms on the same date in April. \n \nHellpoint is being published by tinyBuild, which has released several indie titles such as Hello Neighbor, Graveyard Keeper, and Punch Club. \n \n \n \n"Once a pinnacle of human achievement, the Irid Novo space station has fallen. Its ruins are now overrun by cruel interdimensional entities acting as puppets of the malevolent Cosmic Gods. You have been created by the Author, organically printed on Irid Novo and sent on a mission to find out the unholy series of events that led to the catastrophic incident known as the Merge." states the official Steam store summary. \n \nThe story is set in the aftermath of the Merge. While players challenge themselves with the difficult gameplay, they will learn more about the Merge incident. \n \nThe game features Souls-like gameplay, which will challenge the player as they explore the space station Irid Novo. The combat system is "unforgiving" against the variety of unusual enemies. Players can craft weapons and develop other special skills to aid in battle. \n \nThe game becomes even more challenging after each death. Each time the player dies, the game world changes, so they won't have the same experience twice. There are checkpoints to fast travel but are limited. \n \nThe Quantic system the game is based in has 21-hour orbit cycles. There are a variety of events that occur during each cycle. \n \nWhile the game is challenging, players don't have to go at it alone. There is solo play, local or online co-op, and PvP multiplayer. Hellpoint contains a co-op story, and players share loot on a spilt-screen, but this is not supported on the Nintendo Switch. \n \nAfter completing the game, there is an even more challenging New Game Plus that awaits. \n \nThe developer announced that a controller is highly recommended to play the game. \n \nHellpoint was first created in 2015 and went on to become a successful Kickstarter campaign one year later. Items from the crowdfunding campaign are still available on the Cradle Point Games website, such as clothing and USB key. \n \nHellpoint is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on April 16, 2020.
