Publisher 2K has finally revealed details regarding their annual pro wrestling game, WWE 2K20, which is set to hit consoles and PC this coming October.

Last week, the longtime developer of WWE’s annual game promised to share the details regarding this year’s game on August 5, and they kept their word. In the reveal, we learned that there’s going to be two cover stars for WWE 2K20, the details for the game’s MyCareer mode, the storyline for the annual Showcase mode, and details regarding the game’s deluxe editions.

The cover stars for WWE 2K20 are current Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and ex-WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. Of course, most people predicted that Lynch would end up on the cover of this year’s game given the fact that she might be the most popular star on WWE’s current roster.

As for the MyCareer mode in WWE 2K20, well, it’ll be expanding, as it’ll feature the ability to play as a female wrestler for the very first time. It was also revealed that mixed tag-team matches will be included in this year’s game, as they were absent in 2K19.

WWE 2K20’s Showcase mode will be all about the women, as it’ll feature the rise of women’s wrestling in the company. In it, players will experience the journey of WWE’s “Four Horsewomen,” the cover star Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, and Sasha Banks. Of course, the mode will begin during the group’s NXT days, and it’ll presumably end with the main event of WrestleMania 35, which featured a three-way championship match between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Ronda Rousey.

In addition to WWE 2K20’s Standard Edition, there will also be a Collector’s Edition and a Deluxe Edition upon release. As you’d probably expect, both the Collector’s and Deluxe Edition’s will feature a ton of bonus content, most of which is centered around the MyCareer mode. However, when purchasing either of the editions featuring bonus content, players will also be able to unlock legendary stars from the past such as Chyna, Hulk Hogan, The Rock, and Mankind.

2K also revealed that their annual WWE game will hit the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on October 22. They also promised to share more information regarding WWE 2K20 in the coming weeks. Also, there hasn’t been much gameplay shown of 2K20, so it’s probably safe to assume that 2K will reveal a bit of gameplay at some point in the coming weeks.
