And a special shout-out for DOOM fans: Xbox really closed the gates on them! Corsair has teamed up with the DOOM franchise for a brutal new hardware line inspired by DOOM: The Dark Ages. If you plan to fight the forces of Hell, then this setup may be right for you. The collection makes sure that everything-a keyboard, a mouse, and a headset-are drenched in the DOOM aesthetic of dark metallic colors made for ripping and tearing.
The announcement tweet from Xbox went along the lines of, “In a war against Hell, you need to come prepared,” followed by a link for the entire collection. The comments that followed were a mixture of joy and skepticism, with even a bit of the chaotic.
Player Michael (@ItsSuperSpesh) wasn’t impressed and said, “Why would I get the hardware collection if they still haven’t fixed the software?” Ouch, tough crowd. Except, maybe some wanted condolences for their pun. Player Noel (@noel_torres93) replied, “This is cool as hell” (pun intended). And then, there was Leaf (@KeyBladeGX), who simply stated, “I’m in this war on the side of Hell.” Okay then.
Jedah (@JedahDarkLyon) crossed the line by asking Xbox to try getting Wuthering Waves on their platform. Meanwhile, TONYX (@tonyriosx888) declared the death of consoles, sticking to his PC where games release day one. Bold take, but you do you.
This collection is the dream for demon-slaying: sleek, aggressive, and screaming so much DOOM energy. Joshua Rivera (@UnboxedWithJosh) gave an “amazing” unboxing review. Not quite convinced, however, was Loki Jarson (@LokiJarson), who questioned, “…won’t those long nails get in the way?” Quite a valid point, to be honest.
The more grounded ones said that Kaz (@DeadLock_21) would own the mic, audio, and keyboard from the set. James Felts (@BraxKedren) wondered if it was even compatible with Xbox Series S. Then, The Gamer Boi (@Fortnitespillet) outright demanded a free one for the review. One can’t really blame the guy for trying.
This DOOM x Corsair collaboration is undoubtedly doing a lot of talking, be it for its design or for how timely it was, or just for the audacity to pass out the demonic gaming goods. And with DOOM: The Dark Ages just around the corner, this could be just the perfect pre-opt for the descent into chaos.
Are you snagging the hellish setup? Or would you rather wait for the game to arrive? Either way, one thing is for sure: DOOM fans remain as passionate (and wildly unpredictable) as ever. Speaking of, Well, erm, excuse us; we have some demons to slay. Keyboard optional.
