Stardew Valley continues to bring in new fans since its release in 2016. The game has updated with new content and multiplayer since launch. Stardew Valley is also mod-friendly, which gives it great replay value for many.

The game is currently out on several platforms, making it a very accessible game for players, no matter what platform they’re on.

What makes Stardew Valley so interesting to so many gamers? The official Nintendo Switch website describes the story: “You’ve inherited your grandfather’s old farm plot in Stardew Valley. Armed with hand-me-down tools and a few coins, you set out to begin your new life. Can you learn to live off the land and turn these overgrown fields into a thriving home? It won’t be easy. Ever since Joja Corporation came to town, the old ways of life have all but disappeared. The community center, once the town’s most vibrant hub of activity, now lies in shambles. But the valley seems full of opportunity. With a little dedication, you might just be the one to restore Stardew Valley to greatness!”

While a game about farm life may not appeal to some, the game offers a relaxing experience and compelling characters that keep players coming back.

ConcernedApe, or Eric Barone, developer of Stardew Valley, recently updated the “Press” section of his website. Sharp-eyed fans noticed that the “History” section of the game now includes a significant milestone.

“Since release, the game has sold over 10 million copies worldwide.” states the Press page.

ConcernedApe also tweeted the milestone on his Twitter account, thanking fans for their support.

Within two months of Stardew Valley’s release, the game sold over one million copies. The game first launched on PC, then was expanded to Mac and Linux, and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 by the end of the year. The next year, the game was released on Nintendo Switch and on mobile devices in 2018.

Stardew Valley is also available in multiple languages so that gamers across the world can enjoy the game.

Stardew Valley has already reached over 10 million units of its game sold within four years of its initial launch. As new content is released over time, it’s possible the sales may double in the future.
