Call of Duty: Warzone — the free-to-play battle royale game from Infinity Ward — has been a huge success thus far. In just a couple of days of being out, it has amassed over 15 million users. That’s quite impressive and a testament to this game’s user-friendliness.

It doesn’t try to be more than a battle royale game. Its loot system is easy to pick up, even for those who aren’t overly familiar with the battle royale space. It also has a good variety of modes. It just got another: a solos mode that’s perfect if you want to put your combat skills to the test alone.

The solos mode gives players the chance to compete with 149 other players. That’s a lot of enemy fire you’ll have to account for. If you play your cards right and devise the perfect strategy — though — you can come out victorious. Winning one of these large matches is extremely satisfying and just shows what high level you’re at compared to the competition.

As far as how each match starts out, it’s like a lot of other battle royale games. You drop in with a single pistol and a couple of bullets. You’ll have to be smart with your drop-off location as to avoid enemy fire out of the gate. If you do end up dying, that’s not the end of the line. You still have the chance to fight back into the game in a post-death match. Lose it — though — and you’re out of the game until the next round.

It’s a pretty simple design, but one that really works so far. Based on early impressions, there seems to be a wide variety of ways you can approach a solos match. For example, you can head to the more dangerous areas and equip yourself with some heavy firepower. It will prove vital to your success. Or, you can sit back with a long-range weapon and play the long game. It’s completely up to you how you approach these chaotic battle sequences.

Call of Duty: Warzone has been a huge success and that’s quite impressive considering the many other competitors in this space. Infinity Ward has learned from the mistakes of other developers and have fine-tuned the experience in all of the right ways. As patches come out and new modes, this battle royale will only get better. It doesn’t get much better as far as free-to-play experiences go.
