Activision and Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is only a few weeks away from being released on consoles, except for the Nintendo Switch, and PC, as the game will hit its supported platforms on October 25. Of course, with it only being a few weeks away from its release date, it’s probably safe to assume that the developers were planning on revealing the full list of weapons for the game, but, the leakers got out ahead of it, as the list was recently leaked by VG Sources.

In addition to the full weapons list being leaked, the full list of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s multiplayer game modes were also leaked, as 40+ online modes were revealed. In the leak, a Battle Royale mode wasn’t mentioned, but files referring to the mode were discovered later, which has fueled the rumor that COD: MW will get the mode added to it at some point.

It’s also been reported that the game has lost a significant amount of pre-orders after Sony revealed that the Special Ops Survival mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 during its first year.

Also, there was a leak which suggested that the weapons in the upcoming first-person shooter would be locked behind random loot boxes, which, as you’d expect, sparked a ton of outrage. Thankfully, it’s since been reported that Activision and Infinity Ward are reconsidering their approach to microtransactions due to the game’s lost pre-orders.

As of this writing, it’s unclear what their new microtransaction strategy will be, but because of the recent leaks, most of the goodwill surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare dissipated. So, if Activision is hoping to regain the lost pre-orders, they’ll need to reveal how microtransactions will work in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare ahead of the game’s release on October 25.
