Before it was released in October of last year, there were a ton of rumors surrounding a possible Battle Royale mode being added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but even though the rumors keep coming, Infinity Ward hasn’t commented on possibly adding a BR mode to their latest first-person shooter, nor have they teased it.

Despite that, new information keeps leaking, most of which is from a reliable source when it comes to Call of Duty leaks — TheGamingRevolution — who claims to have new information regarding Modern Warfare’s rumored Battle Royale mode.

According to the aforementioned leaker, the release date for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale has been pushed back, as TheGamingRevolution claims that Infinity Ward feels like they need more time to iron out its kinks. He also said that it could be released during season two, and it could be pushed back to season three. Of course, IW announced recently that they’re extending season one, which will now end next month.

In the closing weeks of 2019, TGR said that the Battle Royale for Modern Warfare was scheduled to be released at the end of January, so season two might’ve been scheduled to kick-off at the end of this month, but the date was pushed back because the devs felt like they needed more time to work on the long-rumored BR mode.

Also according to TheGamingRevolution, Modern Warfare’s Battle Royale will be capable of hosting up to 200 players, thus doubling the size of the traditional 100 players. Of course, the game was released with the capability of hosting 100 players via its Ground War mode.

Recently, the devs at Infinity Ward have been making a big effort to communicate with their player-base, as they’ve been giving weekly updates via their blog. In their latest post, they announced that they’re going to add Deathmatch Domination and new variants to the popular, fast-paced Gunfight mode, although they didn’t get specific about what’s coming to the 2v2 mode.

“We’re also working on some fun twists on old favorites, like Deathmatch Domination,” said Infinity Ward in their latest community update. “And we’re working on a version of Gunfight with some updated loadouts. We also have some more 2XP events coming your way over the next few weeks too, so stay tuned for more details!”

If a Battle Royale mode is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in February, then expect to see Infinity Ward tease an announcement on their blog, which will likely be followed by a trailer for the rumored 200-player mode.
