Bungie has released another fully loaded This Week In Destiny (TWID) update that could even draw attention from a casual Guardian. It spilled the beans on the Year of Prophecy reveal and rolled out the carpet onto the Destiny 2 Creator Hub. Oh, and wait for it—gave players the ability to pilot a Fallen Brig. Yes, you read that right. Heavy Metal just got a little heavier.
What does this whole Year of Prophecy thing really mean? Well, Bungie is going full cryptic mode (surprise, surprise) but in the TWID certain community burning questions got at least some answers. No, they didn’t go out of their way to say, “Here’s exactly what’s coming,” because what fun would that be? But enough breadcrumbs were dropped on, you know, lore drops, insane in-game events, and a whole bunch of loot to keep that hype train rolling: Because, honestly-a Destiny without loot is like a Hive Knight without a sword-wrong in every way possible.
Next up is the Destiny 2 Creator Hub. If you love fan-made stuff, this would be your meadow. Bungie is basically empowering creators to go wild with their guides, art, memes-anything to give a little lift to your Ghost. Smart move, really, considering the insane level of creativity this game community possesses. So expect something weird soon. And hey, maybe you’ll jump in on the fun or simply lean back and watch. No judgment.
Yeah, that really does bear the weight-piloting the Fallen Brig. For those who aren’t in the loop, Brigs are those good ol’ hulking mech suits the Fallen stomp about in. Thanks to Heavy Metal, players can now jump in and wreck havoc, and honestly, while chaos is afoot, it’s way past time we fight back against those pesky Eliksni. No clue how long this is going to be around though, so get in while you can. Seriously, you would regret missing this.
Of course, the entire TWID is bursting with those nitty-gritty details of patch notes, bug fixes, and probably some Eververse things (because, of course). But really-I’m betting you’re here for the Brig action and the Prophecy hints. And you can’t be blamed for that. Bungie definitely knows how to entertain, even when they go all vague on purpose.
So yeah, if you’re a Destiny 2 fan, this TWID is worth at least a read. Or just skim it. Or just watch one of the many YouTube recaps. Whatever works. But seriously, get running to pilot that Brig. The fun and dumb factor are through the roof. And maybe this is in preparation for something bigger, or maybe Bungie just wanted to let us go nuts for a little while. Either way, we’ll take it.
Meanwhile, we’ll take our leave for now, as we have a Brig with a Vex portal to crash. Starside, see you then, Guardians.
