A handful of new visuals depicting Borderlands 4 came into the moving world, and reactions are, well, to put it mildly-varied. Hyped versus skeptical Gamerland to some. Others are here just for Moxxi. I mean, when ISN’T someone here for good ol’ Moxxi?
The Game Awards tweeted these visuals for an upcoming incarnation into the looter-shooter, and players *had* to have their own take on an art still very much Borderlands- cel-shaded chaos.
First-and-foremost, the look of Moxxi became a hot point of debate! One user @_iJord_ simply said, “moxxi is moxxi ♥️,” while @Z3RO_98 mused: “How does everyone else always age BUT moxxi bro?” Then another @PsykoPyro was downright savage: “They nerfed Moxxi, 0/10.” Ouch.
But it was not just Moxxi. Even the potential return of Claptrap seemed to stir excitement, with @channel_hand screaming: “CLAPTRAP IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” (Yes, really, that many exclamation points). And then there are those who, like @Majewra, still hope Jack Black will return to voice the delightfully annoying robot.
On the other hand, there was the less thrilled crowd. @Mrcreamtoast summed up the feelings nicely: “Oh wow it looks so … the same.. yay.” Then @Viori_Algore flatly asked, “It’s not gonna be better is it?” posting a meme with a very unimpressed man.
Now…the real drama? System requirements. @MinarquistaEsp unveiled the elephant in the room: “32 gb of ram….” And from there almost things went up in flames on whether Borderlands 4 is going too far with @axl_frts contending: “32gb becomes a new standard BL4 or not that’s all 🤷🏻♂️.” @MinarquistaEsp retorted: “Goodbye 50% of sales on steam” Yikes.
Oh, and one can hardly forget Take-Two’s EULA controversy. @imadethisforp12 declared: “No one’s going to buy this crap until Take-Two fixes their new eula policy,” opening an entire debate on corporate greed versus gamer loyalty.
So yeah. Borderlands 4 is coming, currently messy-but the kind of mess that will probably rake in millions anyway. For guns, for memes, or just for Moxxi’s eternal glow-up, one thing’s for sure: The chaos on Pandora isn’t changed. And, honestly, would we even want it to?
So who are going to be the pre-orderers and who are going to be the boycotters? Place your bets.
