Animal Crossing: New Horizons has announced preorder incentives in other parts of the world, but none in North America. That has finally changed, as Best Buy has announced the first preorder bonus available in North America.

Best Buy is now offering a free phone badge with every physical copy of Animal Horizons New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch.

“If the hustle and bustle of modern life’s got you down, Tom Nook has a new business venture up his sleeve that he knows you’ll adore: the Nook Inc. Deserted Island Getaway Package! Sure, you’ve crossed paths with colorful characters near and far. Had a grand time as one of the city folk. May’ve even turned over a new leaf and dedicated yourself to public service! But deep down, isn’t there a part of you that longs for…freedom? Then perhaps a long walk on the beach of a deserted island, where a rich wealth of untouched nature awaits, is just what the doctor ordered!” states the official Nintendo game store summary.

The Best Buy incentive is a badge featuring Tom Nook. The badge acts like a sticker that can be placed on almost any surface and was made by Controller Gear. The badge is an official product from Nintendo and retail around $10.

My Best Buy embers will also receive $10 in rewards with their pre-order and purchase of the game.

Other preorder incentives have previously been announced in other countries.

There are four different preorder bonuses throughout stores in Europe. GAME UK is offering a tote bag featuring Tom Nook, Isabelle, and K.K. Slider. Argos has a K.K. Slider keychain, while ShopTo has a Tom Nook preorder bonus. Smyth’s Toy’s preorder bonus is a notebook, including stickers of the helpers, plus flowers, and various villagers appearing in the new game.

FNAC in Spain has an exclusive gold K.K. Slider pin featuring the face of the talented musician.

So far, there’s been a significant lack of preorder incentives available in North America. Many have hoped for a special Animal Crossing edition of the Nintendo Switch, but there’s been no news from Nintendo, not even a themed sticker overlay for their consoles.

Hopefully, this is the first of many preorder bonuses coming to North American fans.
