Avatar: Generations, an authorized epic world role-playing game based on Avatar: The Last Airbender, will premiere this month on mobile devices.

The free-to-play game is being created by Square Enix London Mobile and Navigator Games, and it will track the adventures of Aang, Katara, Sokka, Toph, and Zuko as they tour the globe and appear to recreate the first three seasons of the Nickelodeon TV show.

Strike force combat will be present in various narrative sequences in Avatar: Generations and the game also offers a robust upgrading and party customization mechanism through the hiring of new heroes. Additionally, DLC that explores the histories of earlier and upcoming avatars like Korra, Roku, and Kiyoshi will be made available.

For both iOS and Android, the soft launch will actually occur this month in Canada, Denmark, South Africa, and Sweden. Other markets are anticipated to come in the following months. Square Enix Montréal’s president of mobile Patrick Naud said he “can’t wait for gamers to jump in later this year,” although it’s not clear if he meant the soft launch or if the game is anticipated to be completely published in 2022.

According to Navigator Games CEO Will Moore, “With an internationally renowned brand of this magnitude, we’ve tried to develop a game that enhances the rich and legendary universe of Avatar: The Last Airbender in a manner that feels genuine and thrilling to fans of the series and RPG games equally.”

“We’ve also tried to make sure that the game is still available to those who don’t often play RPGs. During this soft launch time, we are carefully collaborating with our community to develop the greatest game we can. Our friends at Square Enix London Mobile have been incredibly helpful in these endeavors.”

The makers did not specify a specific date for when fans may anticipate further details, but given that the game’s soft launch is scheduled for later this month, it’s unlikely to be long before we learn more about Avatar: Generations.
