With Arma Reforger possibly hosting the announcement of a Tiny Wars play session tomorrow, May 23, 1900 CEST at the selected time, there was so much chaos-the hype, the disappointed voices-from far and wide. In one of the Arma Platform’s official tweets, players from all platforms were implored to take part in the Official Play Session (OPS-HUB), but the reaction was quite mixed.
Still, wonders have been shared among the enthusiasts. The excitement is very real. @Theedronus described the whole thing as “Dope as fuck,” while @CodyVidalMusic, a developer of Plastic Battlegrounds, was opening up some positive vibes for the team: “I’ve been playing Arma Reforger lately so this is an awesome surprise! Salute! o7.” Free support flowed from @JhonesGalager as well, who said that having Arma on consoles already “is a blessing itself” and that the developers should just shrug it off.
Now the downside. Most of these PlayStation 5 users are unimpressed; indeed, they are raging. @Osimhenoglu said, “the mods on PS5 are broke asf.” Then with an insult, @darthzuir36 added, “Cant even play the modds rn shit soo broke 😂🤦♂️🤦♂️ yall suck.” A few others, such as @ZOVmanZ and @AtiaTalatia1111, demanded fixes for crashing now and would even go further with a call for the game’s removal from consoles if the fixes weren’t forthcoming.
Workshop and download issues reign supreme, with @peytonwillets27 begging for a hotfix: “the workshop is refusing to work,” while @get_him_lad bore his pain: “5 hours in trying to join a server dont have much time to play because off work feel let down tbh.” On the lighter note, @Tacho_graf gives the nod to the giant downloads PS5 players have to sit through before actually getting to start.
Meanwhile, @DonaldJProud suggested that Sony might be throttling write speeds to prolong the drive’s life, branding such an act “absolutely insane,” and @ETack2toxic followed up with a scornful jab, asking how the write speed could be so slow when PS5 downloads are supposed to be fast.
In the middle of all this, a couple of players were thinking ahead: @RealVinHDz announced a new server, “Blood and Sand – Blackhawk Down – Somalia ’93,” while @JhonesGalager inquired about mods for Iraq, Afghanistan, or Ukraine.
What do we take away from this? Well, the Tiny Wars session for Arma Reforger is happening, but people are talking about it—just not always the way the devs might have been hoping for. For every single excited player who is standing by to lock, load, and capture the living room, there is one who is stuck in the download queue or staring at a crash screen. Will the play session put an end to all this? Or will more complaints just roll in? Time, and hopefully a few hotfixes, shall decide.
