The gaming monitors competition is getting intense as days go by. AOC is determined to assert its position in the industry after releasing two top of the line gaming monitors with 240Hz refresh rate and 0.5ms response time. The two are Agon AG251FZ2 and Agon AG271FZ2 which feature 24.5 and 27-inch TN panels respectively. \n \nThe Agon series of gaming monitors from AOC have been around for some time, but we haven't seen one with a 0.5ms response time. That is among the best features the new monitors boast. The older AOC Agon AG271QX is among the most popular AOC gaming monitors and comes with a 1ms response time. That tells you how good the new monitors are in gaming; no motion blur, or ghosting. \n \nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/BlurBusters\/status\/1146903913716752384 \n \nThe Agon series of gaming monitors from AOC have been around for some time, but we haven't seen one with a 0.5ms response time. For e-sports and gaming, a fast refresh rate is what you need to remain on the competitive edge. Besides the fast refresh rate, the two AOC monitors support AMD's FreeSync dynamic refresh. \n \nAlso, the Taipei-based monitor manufacturer included AOC's proprietary enhancements like Shadow Control, which balances contrast in dark scenes. There's also Low Input Lag for fast data transfer and Lowblue Light Mode which protects gamers' eyes during those long, intense battle. \n \nWhen it comes to connectivity, the AG271FZ2 and AG251FZ2 are well equipped. They have one DisplayPort 1.2, one HDMI 1.4 and one HDMI 2.0, one DVI-D, one D-Sub and of course a 3.5-mm port. Agon also has a builtin USB 3.0 hub and is equipped with two 3W speakers. \n \nThe design of the two new monitors is not far from the trademark aggressive AOC design with red accents. The two also feature adjustable height and tilt and have an easy QuickSwitch button to toggle between the two adjustment settings. \n \nBesides the difference in screen size, the new Agon monitors have different pixel pitch and pixel density. The 24.5-inch AOC Agon AG251FZ2 has ~0.28 mm² pixel pitch and ~90 PPI pixel density. As for the larger Agon AG271FZ2, the pixel pitch is ~0.31 mm² while the pixel density is ~81 PPI. \n \nThe AOC Agon AG251FZ2 and Agon AG271FZ2 are all available on the market retailing at $329 and $379 respectively making them very affordable gaming monitors. Interestingly, the prices could come down further in the upcoming Amazon Prime Day 2019. The duo is covered with a 3-year warranty.
