The third week of LCS began an intensive match-up between Evil Geniuses and Counter Logic Gaming, with CLG copying the top Soraka pick from Europe’s G2.
While in Europe the standings are mostly clarified, in NA it’s unclear who is the best and who is the worst.
Immortals vs 100 Thieves
Cho’Gath / Rek’Sai / Syndra / Aphelios / Braum vs Gangplank / Gragas / Orianna / Senna / Thresh
Immortals had a wonderful game. They had a 3k gold lead at 11 minutes only based off the snowball from the dying top laner of 100 Thieves, Ssumday. While the Korean top laner usually performs alongside his duo buddy Meteos, Immortals seemed much stronger and were prepared for their gameplay. They shut down the carry top lane and forced objectives on the bot side of the map.
With no side-lane pressure from 100 Thieves, Immortals took the win easily.
Golden Guardians vs Team Solo Mid
Aatrox / Jarvan / Zoe / Aphelios / Thresh vs Qiyana / Gragas / Ornn / Xayah / Rakan
Golden Guardians are looking shaky after the first couple of games. They have no proper synergy and seem to throw out their small leads away quite easily.
Team Solo Mid, on the other hand, is looking more and more coordinated, their mid-game has heavily improved and Dardoch seems to have found his place on the roster. They are looking like a contender for Cloud 9 for now, as they have very decisive wins for the past weeks.
Dignitas vs Cloud 9
Gangplank / Rek’sai / Orianna / Senna / Tahm vs Aatrox / Lee Sin / Zoe / Aphelios / Nautilus
A complete stomp by Cloud 9. Dignitas got outplayed on every single lane, the only relief for them is that they have denied Zven’s infinite KDA, which he carried. With his 1 death this game he has a defined KDA going forward and will no longer have an ‘infinite’ KDA after being deathless for almost 3 weeks.
Cloud 9 is the best team in the League Championship Series right now, even after losing their core players.
Flyquest vs Evil Geniuses
Camile / Lee Sin / Zoe / Aphelios / Nautilus vs Aatrox / Jarvan / Malzahar / Xayah / Rakan
Flyquest had a wonderful start this season but crashed just like in the previous ones. They seem to be consistently mediocre. Evil Geniuses, on the other hand, are improving heavily which can be seen for past games. If they keep it up, they will easily reach the top 4 in LCS.
That is all for Day 2 of Week 3 coverage of LCS 2020, stay tuned for more in the upcoming days.
