Japanese multinational video game company Nintendo announced today that the Direct Event would be held tomorrow at 6 p.m. EST.
The Nintendo Direct event will showcase mainline first-party titles like Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Pokemon Sword and Shield, which will be released on October and November respectively.
Teasers of New Titles in for Tomorrow’s Meaty Direct Event
Other than that, rumors suggest that the Nintendo Direct Event could also include teasers on Bayonetta 3, details about LightSwitch Lite, and remasters of Assassin’s Creed. A glimpse of Animal Crossing’s New Horizons and Metroid Prime 4 may also be on tap.
Aside from the big new releases, rumors also point that the Switch Online could work splendidly with SNES games. The Switch Lite will roll out this month, and it is more than likely that users will see SNE games arrive on Switch Online during the holiday season.
Likewise, tomorrow’s event could also see the release of the Overwatch AC4 switch port which has been gaining traction following the leak. Moreover, reports swirling around the industry say that some time will also be spent on revealing another Super Smash Bros. Ultimate character.
Should Everyone Expect SNES Surprises?
Similar to all Nintendo Direct announcements, no further information was given. However, industry reports suggest that 40 minutes provides Nintendo a significant time to provide at least a few surprises for Switch fans.
Earlier this year, personnel of Nintendo was spotted at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, filing a document for what may look like a Super NES-style wireless controller for Switch.
A figure of the document features a drawing of the back of the wireless device, which is positively a SNES controller. Also, the shape has model numbers and FCC ID, which include the letters HAC.
Bear in mind that the “HAC” phrase is usually found in model numbers for Switch hardware and accessories.
The FCC filing of Nintendo may give further proof to the addition of Super NES games for Switch Online.
In January of this year, members of the modding community discovered evidence for SNES titles for Switch Online. Among the titles include Pilot Wings, Super Mario, and The Legend of Zelda.
The addition of SNES games for Switch Online would enhance the gaming experience as evidenced by the addition of Vice: Project Doom and Kung-Fu Heroes. At present, Nintendo sells Switch wireless controllers, which has a SNES controller design.
