The first big update for The Sims 4 in 2020 occurred last week. The update includes overall patches and updates before the release of the Tiny Living Stuff pack, which was released yesterday.

The Tiny Living Stuff pack gives Sims a new way to reduce their carbon footprint by living in a small home. Players have to ensure their Sims are comfortable while living with a minimal amount of items.

“Think big, build small with The Sims 4 Tiny Living Stuff Pack*! Create the tiny, comfy home of your Sims’ dreams using space-saving furniture and a new residential lot type for small builds. Cozy up by dressing your Sims in stylish attire and oversized cashmere sweaters.” states the YouTube trailer description.

Before the new content is rolled out, there are lingering issues with past content that had to be addressed. Updates are only applied to DLC, and other content players own.

The first set of fixes was for The Sims 4 base game. Patches include Ultra Speed time only being applied to service NPCs, making them move faster than any other Sim on the lot. Freelancer jobs can now be completed while on vacation, which doesn’t end the vacation but turns it into a working holiday.

More fixes were applied to children. “Tuck In” interactions are no longer duplicated when kids are ready to sleep. In the Get Together DLC, toddlers will walk to Closets to “Plan Outfits” and not wander around the lot before going to the correct location. The error may have been more accurate, but it was patched the latest update.

Get Famous also saw two career-related patches. “Check Open Auditions” has been fixed along with the Career Panel accurately recording all work to build up Sims’ careers to become a famous performer.

Discover University has a new update that’s important to keeping Sims in school. If Sims try to withdraw from the term, a notice will appear warning them of the possibility of losing their scholarship. Previously, Sims weren’t warned, and scholarship money was lost.
